Spivi Virtual Reality Indoor Cycle Spin Class
Indoor Cycle Spin is a fantastic freestyle stationary cycle workout. Cycle will build endurance and provides great cardiovascular training for performance fitness. The Firm Cardio Studio’s Spivi® offers a unique “spin” on the traditional indoor cycle exercise class. This virtual reality indoor cycle program uses heart rate training and is a fun and exciting way to burn hundreds of calories in a 45 to 50 minute session. Spivi Indoor cycle Power View Think of it as a video game and your bike is the controller. Your ride will take you to different areas in the world. Real time metrics allow riders to track and yes, compete against others in the class if you care to do so. We offers classes for hard core fitness enthusiasts as well as those just beginning their fitness journey. Your Avatar’s performance on the screen is based on a percentage of your own FTP – so as long as you are working in the same “zone” as the class, you won’t be left behind. Instructor lead classes are offered during peak times and Virtual Instructor classes through the day — ride when YOU want, not when a class is scheduled. The Spivi system is ideal for team building activities and we can schedule a private ride for groups of up to 20 people. Spivi® turns traditional indoor cycling sessions into a fun and thrilling experience. Group activity is monitored in real time by Spivi’s core engine which uses it to simulate outdoor riding experience projected on screen. Members can see their personal avatars on screen, track their training goals and gain better results over time. The scenery pushes people to their limits, increases motivation and makes them come back for more classes. Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save Save

"I struggle most of my adult life with my weight. The yoyo diets just didn't work. I lifted weights and and tried body building. I got into step aerobics and fell in love with it enough to get certified to teach.  Since the early 80's I would spend my summers doing endurance bicycle rides, but I still struggled with my weight. Nothing really seemed to work until I discovered indoor cycle. The combination of indoor cycle and healthy eating proved to be the winning combination. In 1998 I became certified in indoor cycle and began teaching regularly at LA Fitness. A self proclaimed gym rat I became disenchanted by the whole "big box" gym. I realized that they only make money when members don't use the facilities. So there is no incentive to make people happy.  So I began to research gym franchises - they are all based on the same business model - and that is just not good enough for me. My sole goal in life is to help people live a healthy happy lifestyle - and with that The Firm Cardio Studio was born."

    OUR SCHOOL OF THOUGHT
Let’s shake things up, literally. Surfset is all about getting away from the traditional static workout and challenging your body in new ways. Every exercise on the board is designed to engage your core & stabilizer muscles and shock the system to create real change inside & out. The body builder look is out & the lean surfer physique is in. You have to train like an athlete to build an athletic body type, and that means multi-planar movements that engage the body & mind in challenging and unique ways.
THE TRADITIONAL IMAGE OF A SURFER’S BODY IS LEAN AND LONG-LIMBED, WITH TIGHT, WELL-DEFINED MUSCLES AND VERY LITTLE BODY FAT.
A surfer is lean without looking weak, and muscular without the bulk. Sharp muscle lines are perfectly symmetrical, and overall body balance creates that enviable athletic physique. Paddling builds shoulder definition, strengthens the lower back muscles, and increases cardiovascular fitness. Duck-diving through waves builds arm strength: tricep strength in particular. The pop-up maneuver engages the core and pectoral muscles, and helps to build explosive power. And the actual process of standing and riding the wave increases leg strength, flexibility, and engages all the postural muscles. Surfset Video with Jennifer

Giving you the best of both worlds. You will spend 20 min on our state-of-the-art Schwinn cycles to get your heart rate up, working a variety of intervals to increase your metabolic efficiency and then using your bike as your ballet barre, sculpt and define your upper body, core, and legs. The end of the class is icing on the cake, as you take a little extra time to recover and  stretch — increasing your flexibility and preparing for the rest of your day. Not a fan of indoor cycle? This class is for you. 20 minutes on the bike is enough to reap some of the benefits from the workout – and let’s face it — you CAN do anything for 20 minutes. What do you have to lose? Why not give Cycle Barre a spin? with Laura CardenasLaura's love for exercise brought her to The Firm Cardio Studio as a member, but it was long before we realized she was destined to be an instructor. She is a natural leader and has a unique ability to make you think you are having fun, when in fact you are really, really working hard. Laura teaches LeBarre which is a Ballet inspired workout using the Lebert EQ bars in place of a ballet bar. She also created our Cycle Barre (playfully referred to as "psycho bar"), which is a combination of 20 minutes of cycle class followed by 30 minute barre workout in the cycle room.

From Vinyasa, to Zen to Surfset® Yoga – there’s a class for everyone! The word yoga, from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as "union" or a method of discipline. A male who practices yoga is called a yogi, a female practitioner, a yogini. The Indian sage Patanjali is believed to have collated the practice of yoga into the Yoga Sutra an estimated 2,000 years ago. The Sutra is a collection of 195 statements that serves as a philosophical guidebook for most of the yoga that is practiced today. It also outlines eight limbs of yoga: the yamas (restraints), niyamas (observances), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration), dhyani (meditation), and samadhi (absorption). As we explore these eight limbs, we begin by refining our behavior in the outer world, and then we focus inwardly until we reach samadhi (liberation, enlightenment). Today most people practicing yoga are engaged in the third limb, asana, which is a program of physical postures designed to purify the body and provide the physical strength and stamina required for long periods of meditation. Save Save Save with Sarah RivesSarah has practiced yoga since 2010 and currently holds a Level One Certification from YogaFit Worldwide, specializing in vinyasa style yoga grounded in proper alignment and safety of exercise science. • Barbell Classes

Every workout plan should include strength training — and building muscle is just scratching the surface of the health benefits you’ll reap.

Yes, strength training will add definition to your muscles and give men and women alike more fit and toned bodies. But working out with weights does so much more. Here are just some of the benefits of strength training. 1. Helps keep the weight off for good.  Not only does strength training aid in shedding pounds, it helps maintain weight loss, too. A recent study revealed that women who followed a weight-training routine 3 times a week increased the amount of calories burned in normal daily activity (in addition to those burned during exercise), helping them to maintain their current weight. 2. Helps protects bone health and muscle mass. After puberty, whether you are a man or a woman, you begin to lose about 1 percent of your bone and muscle strength every year. Studies have proven that one of the best ways to stop, prevent, and even reverse bone and muscle loss is to add strength training to your workouts. 3. It makes you stronger and fitter. Strength training is also called resistance training because it involves strengthening and toning your muscles by contracting them against a resisting force. 4. It helps you develop better body mechanics. Strength training has benefits that go well beyond the appearance of nicely toned muscles. Your balance and coordination will improve, as will your posture. More importantly, if you have poor flexibility and balance, strength training can reduce your risk of falling by as much as 40 percent, a crucial benefit, especially as you get older. 5. Can help prevent disease Studies have documented the many wellness benefits of strength training. If you have arthritis, strength training can be as effective as medication in decreasing arthritis pain. Strength training can help post-menopausal women increase their bone density and reduce the risk of bone fractures. And for the 14 million Americans with type 2 diabetes, strength training along with other healthy lifestyle changes can help improve glucose control. 6. Strength training boosts energy levels and improves your mood. Strength training will elevate your level of endorphins (natural opiates produced by the brain), which will make you feel great. As if that isn’t enough to convince you, strength training has also been shown to be a great antidepressant, to help you sleep better, and to improve your overall quality of life. 7. Strength training translates to more calories burned. You burn calories during strength training, and your body continues to burn calories after strength training, a process called “physiologic homework.” More calories are used to make and maintain muscle than fat, and in fact strength training can boost your metabolism by 15 percent — that can really jumpstart a weight loss plan. We offer a variety barbell classes weekly to help you with your strength training.

I got into step aerobics and fell in love with it enough to get certified to teach.  Since the early 80's I would spend my summers doing endurance bicycle rides, but I still struggled with my weight. SURFSET® FITNESS

PiYo was created by Chalene Johnson, the founder of the Turbo Kick system. with Laura CardenasLaura's love for exercise brought her to The Firm Cardio Studio as a member, but it was long before we realized she was destined to be an instructor.

    SURFSET® FITNESS

  • MixxedFit®MixxedFit® is a people-inspired dance fitness program that is a mix of explosive dancing and boot camp toning. Everything about our dance fitness program can be described as explosive – all of our movements are always big, exaggerated, full-out, and our very best. We dance to our favorite songs on the radio that we would dance to at a nightclub. Then, we spice things up by adding boot camp-inspired exercises to make your workout more effective and challenging. If you’re plateauing in your traditional dance fitness class, this might be the answer to your prayers. A traditional MixxedFit® class is 60 minutes in length and will get you to your fitness goals a lot quicker than just dancing alone. Why? Because the secret is in the toning that we incorporate. The best part of it all is that we tone using our own bodies. No equipment, no dumbbells, and no awkward toning contraptions!
Our choreography is not complex and difficult. Our steps are repetitive and very easy to follow which means that our students can naturally increase their level of intensity during their workouts. We aim to keep our choreography simple. That way, our students can focus on “working out” rather than following dance steps. If you can do things like squats, jumping jacks, and shake that booty, you will have a blast in class. Save
